Imagining the future
Talented students and academics at De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) will be part of Britain’s biggest trade showcase in Hong Kong, the GREAT Festival of Innovation.
DMU has been chosen as the UK’s higher education partner, representing British education at its best. The university will stand alongside fellow GREAT partners such as BBC Worldwide, Jaguar Land Rover, PwC, British Airways and HSBC at the four-day festival in March.
Professor Dominic Shellard, Vice-Chancellor of DMU, said: “Creativity and innovation are central pillars of today’s knowledge economy and vital qualities for students’ employability. They are also critical aspects of the outstanding teaching and student experience on offer at DMU.
We are proud therefore to be the principal higher education partner for the GREAT Festival of Innovation in Hong Kong and to be showcasing our work to a global audience.
“Our universities are among the UK’s greatest assets, recognised and celebrated around the world. We look forward to playing a central role in taking that message out through the GREAT campaign in the weeks and months to come.”
Bringing innovation to life
The event, run by the Government’s Department of International Trade will show how new technology could change the way we work, learn and play in the future.
DMU will be helping to bring each of those areas to life using virtual reality, interactive pop-up fashion salons and a special showcase of our pioneering #DMUglobal programme which has transformed educational experiences for thousands of students.
